DTG printing works like an inkjet printer for fabric - ink is applied directly onto the garment, giving you full-colour, photo-realistic detail with no minimum order quantity. It's the method of choice for small runs, print-on-demand, and designs with complex colour or gradients that screen printing can't easily reproduce.

File reviewed for resolution and colour accuracy
2. Pre-treatment (for dark garments)
Fabric treated so ink sits correctly and colours stay vivid
3. Printing
design printed directly onto the garment
4. Curing
Heat-cured to lock the ink into the fabric
5. QC & dispatch/fulfilment

Guide
File types:
PNG (with transparent background) or high-resolution JPEG/PDF
Resolution:
Minimum 300dpi at actual print size - low-res web images will print blurry or pixelated
Colour mode:
RGB is fine for DTG (unlike screen print, which needs CMYK/Pantone)
Background:
Transparent background for any non-square design so it sits cleanly on the garment
Dark garments:
Let us know the garment colour in advance - designs for dark fabric need a slightly different file prep (white underbase) for colours to stay accurate
Working from a phone photo or social media graphic? These are usually too low-resolution for a clean print - send us the original file if you have one, or we'll flag any quality concerns before production.

Yes, DTG handles full-colour, photo-realistic images well, which is one of its main advantages over screen printing.
Is DTG as durable as screen printing?
DTG prints are durable for everyday wear and washing, and offer a long life span. As any garment - high heat washes can affect the longevity of the print quality.
